Jim Alsup – Senior Vice President, Engineering

Jim Alsup joined Wapiti Energy, LLC in 2010 as Senior Vice President, Engineering and is responsible for the management of the company’s operations functions.

In 1988, Jim joined Anadarko Petroleum and worked in a variety of operations engineering, field development and management roles in the Mid Continent, Texas Gulf Coast, Gulf of Mexico, North Africa and the Rockies. Jim was responsible for the commercial management and coordination of Anadarko’s interests in the multi-billion dollar Independence Hub Project in the deep-water Eastern Gulf of Mexico. Prior to Anadarko, Jim worked for Kelt Energy as a petroleum engineer.

Later, Jim worked as Vice President, Development & Drilling at Legado Resources and was responsible for the company’s Texas Gulf Coast fields including the evaluation of tertiary recovery potential. Additionally, he managed the drilling activities for the company’s horizontal Marmaton program in the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles and managed the oil & gas marketing functions for the company.

Jim holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He is a registered professional engineer in Oklahoma and a member of SPE.
